Spa Day?

This is how I feel right now:

I know right, fantastic! I just got back from a fabulous dentist appointment. (Please note, "dentist" and "fabulous" in the same sentence!) A couple of years ago I realized that whole flossing thing they preach and preach and preach about, actually has some merit. The dentist hasn't been so scary since then, even when I ditched out for almost a whole year. Here is another reason it was fabulous:

Yup, the three of them survived, thrived even, for more than an hour by themselves. Which means I got an hour to myself in a reclined position even with my eyes closed. Subtract the awful scraping noises and I'd tell you I went to the spa today!

When Kyla saw this she exclaimed "Look its Kyla; she has blue eyes like me!"

Finally caught his smile without the blur. I can't believe those dimples!

Girl's Day

While shopping at Target last week (a special treat for this small town girl,) I found a headband that I needed, but didn't want to spend money on. I tried to find a picture of it online, but it is nowhere to be found. To make it I need seed beads and a better memory of what it looked like, but Kyla and I improvised.

I had a pack of 6 headbands for a dollar at Family Dollar. Kyla was using them as crowns, but we made them way prettier. I knew I was saving this pink ribbon for something.

We cut out a piece of felt and started gluing. Kyla had different ideas than me, but its her headband so we went with it. She loves music, butterflies, crowns, and bling, so despite the craziness I love how it turned out.

If it were possible to have a second go of it, I would glue the felt piece lower on the headband.

Then it was my turn.

I really would model it for you if I didn't still have a horrifying bright red monster eye. (Also known as Pink Eye.)

Everything we used we just had on hand - various scrapbook supplies and ribbons and scraps from other projects. The ivory rose is from a pair of tights.

Kyla even made herself a set of drumsticks.

Love that my girl is getting old enough to craft with me!

Pink Eye Anyone?

Ugh! Kyle got it a week ago Saturday. Kyla got it Saturday. I got it today. Be careful, you might get it from looking at this post.
We spent two Saturdays in a row in the Urgent Care in Vernal to get an antibiotic so we wouldn't be contagious...
Our whole family has bleeding hands from the frequency with which we've washed them...
I've Clorox wiped my glasses...

We all still got it, except for Seth, cross every finger.

This hurts! It feels like my eyelid is made of sandpaper.

A little FYI about Pink Eye, just in case you don't know. Pink Eye can be from a bacteria or a virus. How do you tell the difference? Antibiotic kills the bacteria, not the virus. That's pretty much the only way I know of. Guess which one I think we got.

Also, I've been told many times that you get Pink Eye from poop. It is also apparently ridiculously contagious. Whoever started this nasty virus in Rangely by forgetting the washie after the flushie (assuming he or she actually flushed) needs to be punished. I sentence you to a 3 day hand washing event. Wash, dry, wash, dry... Oh and you must sing the Happy Birthday song while you wash. For 3 days that would be punishment alone. And no sleeping.

So I stayed home tonight in my jammies and snapped a few smiley pics of my baby.

He's cute, no denying.

What's for Dinner?

No really, what is for dinner? I could not come up with anything! Its not Baked Potato Tuesday, and we had chicken last night. Meat loaf is for Wednesday. We had Mac n Cheese for lunch.

This is what I came up with.

My poor family.

Notice how I didn't even give them plates.

We were trying to hurry so we could finally plant our garden...

...but, the nasty wind prevented us from doing that. I haven't planted a garden. Not ever. I've weeded gardens that my dad planted years ago (seriously like 20 years!) I intend to put seeds in the ground and water them. There can't be much more to it right? I'll let you know how it goes.

Blow Out!

Here is a little multiple choice question for you:

What does "blow out" mean to you?

A. An exploded tire.

B. To extinguish, ex. blow out candles.

C. A leaky diaper

D. To succeed or conquer, ex. blew the competition out of the water.

E. B, C, and D, but not A - today anyway.

As you may have guessed, I will answer this little quiz with E.

Its true, I turned 30. My brother called and text and Facebook messaged me all day asking if I was crying, because he will be when he turns 30. Well too bad for you Bretter; 30 suits me well, or at least ok, really its not so bad...

I found a gray hair, not the first time, but I couldn't get it singled out to pull it, and I couldn't find tweezers. Finally, I announced, "I'm 30 now, let them come!"

I've loved reading about many of my friends turning 30! They've lost 30lb by 30, or blogged 30 days of bucket list type fun stuff, or ran a marathon... the list goes on. I have a two month old boy, so you could say I've lost 30 by now, but as far as the rest of it goes, its all I can do to stay awake for breakfast. And that's okay for me right now.

I guess the biggest concern for me is what I have to show for these 30 years I've been alive, and you know what, I'm not doing so badly:

Just look at this family. Love them!

My amazing friends completely surprised me with a huge surprise birthday party. They're good. I had suspected something, but they had put all the suspicions to rest by the time I walked in the door to a house full of people. We had chicken tacos with Cafe Rio style dressing. YUM! Then played Just Dance on the Wii.
They were nice enough not to light 30 candles on my cake, just three. The highlight of the evening? - My inability to successfully blow out 3 candles. Sad, I know.

Even though his mother doesn't, Seth definitely does know how to blow out. 5 times today. He had some nakey time at church today. You'd think I'd learn to have extra clothing on hand. My memory must be going; I forgot what this is like!

And the final blow out of this post. Blow out the competition! That's the goal. Thank you to everyone who has voted, and if you haven't, please go vote! My bedroom depends on it!
